November 5th, 2015

Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel

Fort Lauderdale – USA

Following last year’s Mare Forum Fort Lauderdale Yacht conference we are pleased to announce the 2nd Mare Forum Fort Lauderdale Yacht Summit 2015. The 2nd Yacht Mare Forum Ft. Lauderdale 2015 is co-organised by Mare Forum and Blueship and supported by the Cayman Registry. The conference will take place during the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
  • The 2nd Mare Forum Fort Lauderdale 2015 conference will feature many high profile speakers from yachting companies, yacht builders, designers, brokers, managers, service providers, charterers, ports, marinas, classification societies, financial institutions, politicians, associations, lawyers, accountants, registries, insurers, regulators, brokers, yacht captains and the media.
  • The entire Yachting World will gather at this distinguished conference where the exchange of information and ideas will make this conference a great experience. Nothing says you made it quite like owning a state of the art, custom built, one of a kind yacht. Those lucky few who own or have been on a yacht, feel like they belong to a special club, where you need a special key to get into.
This is a niche industry, comparatively few yachts are sold around the world; even fewer are custom built. Here we want to know the ins and outs of this fascinating business that makes dreams come true. The process of finding the right yacht, figuring out the size, finding the right crew, choosing the right insurance, financing the purchase strategically and finally looking into the finances and funding for the yachts lifetime operation and management. Also, the technology and the sustainability of a yacht increasingly matters and we want to know what kind of combination of fuel and other sources of energy will guarantee the optimal yacht operation.
  • * Will the orderbook increase in the next 5 to 10 years?
  • What are the new trends and developments for yachts?
  • Does environmental yachting make sense?
  • What are quality yachts?
  • What are the yacht owners’ needs?
  • How to deal with new regulations?
  • What’s new on taxes?
  • What’s new from Flag states?
  • What is missing – what has to be done?
  • What are the correct visas for foreign crew?
  • What are the implications for yachts cruising in Cuban waters
  • Renewal of crew STCW training
  • What are the main MLC challenges from a management perspective
  • What protection does crew serving on non-MLC yachts have?
  • What type ballast water treatment systems are available for yachts?
  • What is the difference between US and IMO BW treatment standards
  • What are the correct visas for foreign crew?
  • What are the implications for yachts cruising in Cuban waters
  • Renewal of crew STCW training
  • What are the main MLC challenges from a management perspective?
  • What protection does crew serving on non-MLC yachts have?
  • Should an owner take his private yacht commercial in the turbulent financial times?
  • What are the most effective ways of doing it?
  • Where the yacht should be registered?
  • And who will manage the operations of the yacht?
  • What are the risks for yacht owners?
  • We will look into the ethics and loyalty surrounding yachting;
  • We will hear the owners prospective;
  • These and many more questions will be asked during this conference.
The conference will take place in an open, stimulating, free-flowing and attractive environment combined with informal discussions which once again will demonstrate the successful hallmark of the Mare Forum formula.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Ft. Lauderdale
